Design and implement a project accounting process and best practice.

A successful privately owned SME in the IT Service sector merged with a number of similar providers to expand the business throughout the UK, Romania and Moldova. The mix of cultures, diversity of business and heavy workload created a problem for the CEO in the identification of margins and profitability. Inncon worked with the CEO and financial team to develop a project accounting model that would be web based, capture all costs and revenue within the desired accounting structure, plus provide empowerment through knowledge.

After an initial review of existing spreadsheets and market products it was decided to create a bespoke product using in house skills for the development. The design, which required interfaces to a timesheet system and company accounting package, was created through a number of interactive workshops and the use of PowerPoint visuals. The rules, preferred ways of working and best practice where captured at the same time. Documentation was produced and signed off and the build managed through in house project management.

eCommerce in the retail sector.

Business entrepreneur and owner of The Welsh Craft Shop, one of Wales' leading Welsh gift shops based in Caerphilly, South Wales, decided that a Bricks' n’ Clicks business model was the best combination for the future.

Like so many other High Street retailers, the gift trade has been hit hard by on-line competitors. The Welsh Craft Shop, now not only has an enviable position opposite the stunning Caerphilly Castle, it has an Internet shop that sits consistently on the first page of Google.

In May 2007 Gary chose Inncon to create and manage his online presence and les than 12 months later his online shop now contributes an additional 35% revenue to his business. Inncon achieved this through an SEO-friendly shop design with usability and ease of use, high priorities, and an ongoing managed PPC and search engine marketing programme.

Inncon are now helping Welsh Gifts integrate a new EPOS system that maintains stock levels both in his gift shop and online shops.

Bid Management.

Throughout their careers Inncon staff and Associates have worked within or managed the bid management process for bids ranging from £100k to £800 million.  A recent example was to represent a major UK service provider as the Transition Manager in a major bid with a Power Regulator.  The transition period had to be strictly managed to take into account seasonal impact, regulatory requirements and significant risk management due to a 30 minute transaction process.  This opportunity required the development of a prescriptive timeline and set of activities to meet the customer’s business expectations.  Inncon provided a MSP Gantt chart, a methodology and appropriate words.  This example is still in progress.
